McMurray Wins At Both Indy, Daytona In 2010

Speedway, IN, United States (AHN) - Chip Ganassi and Jamie McMurray joined some pretty elite company Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Ganassi got the rare season-sweep of Indianapolis with Dario Franchitti winning the Indianapolis 500 and McMurray, who captured the the Brickyard 400 on Sunday.

McMurray pulled off a rarity himself as he became just the third driver to win both the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 in the same season -- the others were Dale Jarrett and Jimmie Johnson.

"You just drive your heart out every lap,'' said McMurray. "We've been really good at these races, what they call the big events. It's been an unbelievable year.''

McMurray's teammate, polesitter Juan Montoya, saw heartbreak at Indy for the second straight season.

For the second year in a row, Montoya dominated the race, but gave up the lead after taking four tires on a late pit stop. McMurray took two tires and took the lead with 18 laps to go.

Montoya restarted in seventh, but lost control and crashed with 15 laps to go.

"It was good day,'' said runner-up Kevin Harvick. "We had a solid, top-five car.''

Greg Biffle finished third and Clint Bowyer and Tony Stewart rounded out the top-five finishers. Jeff Burton, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Kurt Busch closed out the top-10 finishers.

"I'm pretty happy we could run with the 42,'' said Biffle. "I'm really excited about that.''
