2009 Nationwide Series Championship Points

Daytona Beach, FL (AHN) - Kyle Busch fell short of winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series championship a week early, but he certainly closed out things in dominating fashion.

With his season-ending win in the Ford 300 last weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway the Las Vegas native won the Nationwide Series championship by a dominating 210 points.

Busch carried a 190-point over former Nationwide Series champion Carl Edwards into the season finale, but after winning the event he had extended his lead to 210 over Edwards.

Busch finished the season with (5,682) and was followed by Edwards (5,472), Brad Keselowski (5,364), Jason Leffler (4,540), Mike Bliss (4,075), Justin Allgaier (4,049), Steve Wallace (4,007), Jason Keller (3,960), Brendan Gaughan (3,914) and Michael Annett (3,598).

Kenny Wallace (3,569), Tony Raines (3,548), Michael McDowell (3,449), Joey Logano (3,371), Kevin Harvick (3,248), Scott Wimmer (3,177), Eric McClure (2,962), David Ragan (2,632), Danny O'Quinn Jr. (2,404) and Brian Vickers (2,403) round out the top-20.

In positions 21st through 29th are: Scott Lagasse Jr. (2,194), Matt Kenseth (1,992), John Wes Townley (1,989), Greg Biffle (1,966), Paul Menard (1,876), Erik Darnell (1,837), David Reutimann (1,807), Jeff Burton (1,775), Clint Bowyer (1,750) and Morgan Shepherd (1,742).

In positions 31st through 39th are: Joe Nemechek (1,692), Trevor Bayne (1,648), Shelby Howard (1,603), Scott Speed (1,591), Mike Wallace (1,535), Mark Green (1,523), Brian Keselowski (1,412) , Ken Butler (1,361), Matt Carter (1,305), and Brandon Whitt (1,260).

Rounding out the top-43 in positions 41st thru 43 are: Robert Richardson Jr. (1,248), Ryan Newman (1,191) and Stephen Leicht (1,185).
