Race Fans Invited FREE to IndyCar Test Session

Race fans will be treated to a free appetizer on Friday, Aug. 13, as 10 race teams from the IZOD IndyCar® Series will take part in a one-day test session at Infineon Raceway.

The test is being held in advance of the main course: the Indy® Grand Prix of Sonoma, Aug. 20-22. This marks the sixth consecutive year of IndyCar racing in the Sonoma Valley; Dario Franchitti took the checkers in 2009.

Fans will also be treated to FREE Pit Tours during the test from 10:30-noon and 1-2:30 p.m. Please meet at the Wine Country Winner’s Circle for the Pit Tours; you must be 18 years old for the Tours and be wearing long pants and closed-toe shoes. Space is limited on the Tours. Teams and drivers scheduled to attend the test include current IZOD IndyCar Series points leader Will Power (Team Penske), Target drivers Scott Dixon and Franchitti and Sausalito native J.R. Hildebrand (Dreyer & Reinbold). Other teams/drivers attending are:

The raceway will feature a number of ticket packages at the test session, including the IZOD Legends of IndyCar, which includes a ticket to the Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma on Sunday, Aug. 22, garage/pit/pre-race pass, plus access to an exclusive Q&A with Mario Andretti, Al Unser Jr., Rick Mears and Johnny Rutherford. These four legendary drivers have combined the win the Indianapolis 500 10 times.
