NEWTON, Iowa - For the seventh consecutive race, Team Penske has won the pole position.  Will Power, with a four-lap average of 181.337, secured his fourth PEAK Performance Pole Award of the 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series season and his first on an oval.

"I am very happy to get my first pole on an oval.  We have been right there the past few races, but I have had some funny things go wrong and a little bit of bad luck.  I am very happy with the Verizon car today and our run was solid, said Power.

Winning the pole brings Power within two points of leader Dario Franchitti in the overall championship standings.

Target Chip Ganassi's Scott Dixon narrowly missed winning the pole; he came up short by just 0.0020 seconds.  He'll start second.

Finishing third back-to-back first at Indianapolis, and then at Texas, Marco Andretti continued to show his liking for third place.  Happy with his qualifying run, Andretti said, "we can do it from here."

Finishing out the top ten are:  Helio Castroneves (P4), Dario Franchitti (P5), Alex Tagliani (P6), Takuma Sato-R (P7), Ryan Briscoe (P8), Danica Patrick (P9) and Dan Wheldon (P10).

Seven different teams are represented in the first ten positions on the starting grid.

The Iowa Corn Indy 25, presented by Pioneer, is the eighth race in the 2010 IZOD IndyCar schedule.  Twenty-five drivers will race 250 laps around the short .875-mile oval.  The race gets underway at 1:30 pm (EST) and can be viewed live on VERSUS.
