Fisher Leads Laps at Chicagoland

JOLIET, Illinois - An unlikely driver appeared at the forefront of the field in Saturday night’s PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300.  Sarah Fisher, driver and owner of Dollar General/Sarah Fisher Racing, led Laps 81-90 at Chicagoland Speedway.

“We just had an overall fantastic run.  Our fuel strategy was really close to paying off-- I mean really close.  I’m just really proud of the whole SFR team-- both the Dollar General and Service Central guys.  They all pulled together to get ready for this race and it showed.  We had great cars.  My car was perfect out there.  It’s just our pit stop strategy didn’t work as well as we wanted it to.  I’m really confident going into Kentucky,” said Fisher.

Fisher, despite flawless pit stops, finished fifthteenth.  She finished ahead of Team Penske's Will Power who sits atop the IZOD IndyCar Series' overall championship standings.  HIs lead over Dario Franchitti, the winner of last night's race, has been reduced to 23 points.

Her teammate, Jay Howard-- driver of the No. 66 Service Central-sponsored car, ended his day at Lap 161 due to mechanical difficulties.  He finished twenty-second.
